Gilboa Historical Society Newsletter
The Newsletter is published by the first of each March, June, and September and presents local history of the Western Catskills in the State of New York. It is mailed to members of the Gilboa Historical Society, and to those who request to be placed on our mailing list. We also offer a free electronic subscription to the Newsletter.

NEW: Audio files of most of articles are available by clicking on a related Audio File link. The audio format was developed primarily for those with sight deficiencies, but they may also be useful for listening in your car. Please give us feedback as to the utility of the audio format for you.
The cost of the Newsletter has been underwritten by contributions from the A. Lindsay & Olive B. O’Connor Foundation, New York State Department of Environmental Protection, the Towns of Gilboa and Conesville, the New York Power Authority, and the Gilboa Historical Society. Please thank these people and organizations for their support!
Starting with the fall (September 1, 2009) issue, we will mail print or electronic copies only to people who contact us and request to be maintained on the mailing list. We do not want to turn people away, but we would like to save costs (and trees) my mailing only to those who are interested.
Subscription to the Newsletter is free, but don’t let this stop you from joining the 2009 Historical Society.
What Is an Electronic Subscription?
An electronic subscription is an email sent to you with a brief description and link to each new publication. You can read them online or download them to your computer. We make an effort to keep the files small, but electronic subscription is not ideal if you are limited to a dial-up Internet connection. The libraries in Stamford and Middleburgh have high-speed Internet so you can read it at the library or download the ENewsletter onto a thumb drive.
